Geoff, Leo and I have received an invitation to present at the upcoming VET E-portfolios Showcase
The overview reads as;
“……The national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), is currently seeking submissions for presentations on the way e-portfolios are being used in the Australian VET sector and within organisations and agencies which support lifelong learning for the VET E-portfolios Showcase..”
For best value here is what we have submitted as our bio’s and abstract for presentation.
Biography
“……Alexander Hayes, EDUPOV Director, works with organizations to embed information communication and networked learning as part of an e-business portfolio calling upon an extensive range of skills and experiences as a professional educator, artist and web developer. Alex has worked extensively with the VET sector with a career spanning over two decades. He has also worked implementing e-learning and m-learning with primary, secondary , tertiary and other government departments as Lecturer, Web Developer, Project Manager, Researcher and Curriculum Instructional Design.
Geoff Lubich is an automotive lecturer at Pilbarra, TAFEWA with over 20 years teaching experience. Geoff also an EDUPOV Director, is an avid developer of online learning and support systems, the development of technologies that enable the generation of reusable learning resources and employing methodologies to support them including real in-time connectivity. POV technologies and the use of Mahara are currently being explored by both Presenters with a number of trial student / workplace training groups…..”
Presentation Abstract
“…..Geoff and Alex will demonstrate a number of e-learning e-portfolio solutions which integrate with learning management systems or as a stand alone player / broadcaster / recorder. Both presenters will engage the audience in an assay of the technology and encourage participants to participate in hands-on scenario activities which demonstrate the full cycle of a POV learning & teaching sequence.
Both presenters are keen to also demonstrate this online learning content repository as it relates to collaborative social networking spaces including wiki’s and blogging environments. A big component of this presentation / workshop is also critically appraising the m-learning potential that the demonstrated technologies imbue most especially with popular devices such as the iPhone.
Participants will have access to a community of practice discussion and a range of example resources which will preface the presentation / workshop…..”
The feedback from AUPOV09 – http://aupov.com – has been overwhelming in cognizance that e-portfolios play a critical component in the success of life long learning as it applies to what learners CREATE, access and re-engage with as they move forward in time from learning environment to learning environment.
This opportunity will provide participants with a greater access and understanding of the manner in which POV technologies and mobile learning can interface with online e-learning solutions.
We look forward to hearing more form the organizers shortly……
