Whilst Others Travel I Map Incumbents

I’ve just heard from Leigh Blackall as he has touched down in Sydney Airport.

Geoff Lubich had touched down a few hours earlier and shattered from the overnight red-eye he has bunked down somewhere in the inner bowels of the city. I’d tried contacting Leigh by chat a number of times earlier in the week to no avail…..times are busy indeed.

Hopefully Leigh will get across to see Stephan ok for lunch and then Geoff can rock up and touch base before the workshop. From there who knows what might transpire tonight….

Meanwhile I’m at the day job ploughing through reams of AQTF documents and training packages by the tree load.

It’s all go for the first POV workshop in Sydney at SIT TAFE NSW which kicks of at 4.30 I think from memory. Simon Brown has confirmed his availability to atend the AUPOV event and I’ve got word back from most people that they have recived their POV kits.

Package arrived safe and sound.

Will write up a blog post in the next couple of days.

Have a couple of keen teachers already – one a science teacher, and a very keen primary school drama teacher.

I’m really looking forward to what Toni Twiss our international guest and speaker from NZ has to say / show and we are very keen at EDUPOV to support Toni in her explorations of the use of the technology as we are with all POV users.

EDUFIRE : Inspiration

I’d like to see EDUPOV have a section like the format used by these guys at Edufire…..similar to edublogs.tv but kind of much groooovier :0

I’ve registered as a ‘teacher’ keen to show people how POV works for learners….builds infinetly more into the equation than School Of Everything.

POV Gets Viral

Another two EDUPOV 2 kits left our shores today bound for Thailand and New Zealand.

Both trials involve secondary class settings, trades related use in the workplace and international school insitutions of epic proportions.

I think this important concept is finally catching on…..and it’s pertinent that Stephen Downes has made mention of the ethics considerations we must make in distribution and the resultant considerations the trial user or anyone must consider from a socio-moral stand point.

Does POV open up dark spaces ? Are there cultural considerations that seem insurmountable ? Where can we better inform the creation of POV resources without getting bogged down in the dimensions of liability ?

Real Women : POV Wrap Around

Brent Leideritz was sponsored by EDUPOV recently whereby a set of EDUPOV2’s were lent for the purposes of recording the event and building a differing aesthitic profile beyond the static domain of the exhibition space.

Check out the Real Women website.

A great example of POV technology use in the arts community.
