Quality : Assurance

As we venture off into the commercial market of supply and demand I keep reminding myself that unless the quality assurance cycle of research | order | purchase and return is thwarted we are continually going to be fighting fires.
Personally, I’d rather see EDUPOV equipment ( where warranted ) quality checked, tested, tagged and re-distributed from Australia despite the obvious costs that the change in shipping occurs….or at least a very rigorous distribution quality check from the manufacturer.
Likewise, I’d like to see us invetsigate more advanced ways of offering robust kits that could be monetised and yes they will cost the client more but in the long run the benefits and the assurance of checking and quality will outweigh the costs…..and the client will thank us for that.
In saying this I’m also cognisant that inevitably anything to do with technology has a thin market component profit and anything else added on top could be seen as a disuader to the client and most importantly to the return customer seeking to upgrade or replace.
Either way I think we can pick up our act on the quality side of the equation. My thinking is that we ensure all POV gear that is in kit form is packed in something like the pelican case mode….or at least something more robust than a cardboard box or cheap cosmetic kit.
Pick out foam, sealable, drop proof ( to a point ) etc.
Has to be better than what’s on the shelves thats distributed with a standard EDUPOV kit holder. Does anyone know of any alternatives to Pelican that are affordable ?
