Fat Cats : The Value Of POV vs Cheap Consumption Ethics

Cast aside the technology allure for a minute and think deeply about what point-of-view technologies might mean for educators and learners alike.

Reusable learning objects or just  hastily composed renderings of everyday skills from the perspective of the expert ?

Either way, and in any way…..who cares ?

What matters most is the opportunity to easily capture a hands free perspective of the skill in its core environment…generally contextually accurate and more often than not with all the hallmarks of a nervous “trainer” trapped between teaching and learning themselves.

I personally like anything that makes the educator feel nervous or places them squarley back in the seat of the learner. He he he * waves broomstick aloft*

So, anyone, just about anywhere has the ability to capture a short ( perhaps episodic ) multi-media element that could with a little imagination be combined with other elements to inform the core premise.

That brings us to the creationism question.

Considering that very little of the internet is created by the consumers who regularly navigate and consume its content vicariously, should we have any expectation that Joe Bloggs can compose, wear, shoot, download, render, convert, edit, output, upload and explain their POV creation ?

In fact, perhaps this is the answer to the American economic crisis that floods the airwaves 24 hours a day at the moment.Maybe American’s can concentrate more on creating and contributing rather than borrowing and spending ( other peoples hard earned cash ).

What will fascinate me is those that despite their common core of pleasure before business who pick up the technology, adapt it for their own purpose and who then apply it’s concept deeply in their creation mode ……between beers, cricket and farting profundly.

Can we expect to see an uptake of POV generation ( use and reuse ) in one of the most conservative areas of society ? Should we give up and just sell it to educators mind-numbed into consumption ethics ?

Perhaps. Either way I’m searching for it on the net……valuing it.

Point me in your direction. What POV do you have for me that I can consume….
